The stakes couldn’t be higher. Compared with normal birth weight infants, low birth weight babies are nearly 20 times more likely to die before their first birthday. Babies born to mothers with gestational diabetes may have hypoglycemia, may develop jaundice or may have breathing problems. When you consider the effect periodontal disease can have on preterm birth and gestational diabetes and the complications it adds to a pregnancy, it can be downright frightening.

Don’t Let Acid Reflux Eat Your Smile

Did you know that your mouth and acid reflux disease are related? Acid reflux disease, also know as Gastroesophogeal reflux disease, is a disease in which partially digested food and/stomach acids come up through the esophagus into the mouth.
